Santiago de los Caballeros.- AC Hotels by Marriott officially opened in Santiago de los Caballeros, with a ceremony attended by Vice President Raquel Peña. The new hotel, located in the Monumental Zone, adds 140 elegant and functional rooms, contributing to the city’s growing reputation as a top destination for both tourism and business in the Dominican Republic.
Hotel owner Nicholl RodrÃguez described the opening as the realization of a dream, acknowledging the support of her husband, Freddy Fernández, in bringing the project to life. She also expressed gratitude to Marriott International, the government, and financial institutions that supported the venture.
Paul Downey, a representative from Marriott International, highlighted the brand’s expansion in the Dominican Republic as part of the country’s growing tourism sector. Key amenities at the hotel include the Maximum Rooftop Restaurant, Mocho Cigar Bar & Lounge, and the Cielo Lounge & Bar, which offers panoramic city views and is one of the few pet-friendly options in the area.
