Santo Domingo.- Three airlines that link the Dominican Republic with other countries with the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft have left passengers stranded, after the jet was grounded pending a probe into two deadly crashes.
American Airlines lodged passengers in area hotels, until another type of plane becomes available to transport the hundreds of travelers stranded in the Dominican Republic.
Local media report that the affected carriers are Sunwing, West Jet and American Airlines, with direct flights from Catey-Samaná to Toronto, and Las Américas and Luperón-Puerto Rico to Miami.
