Santo Domingo.- With representatives of destination management companies, travel agencies, cruise lines, and other suppliers tourism services, the Latin America Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange -Lamite- launched its 2018 version.
Dominican Republic hosts the event, from June 19 to 21, coordinated by the Tourism Ministry’s Congresses and Incentives directorate headed by Amelia Molina.
Every year the activity that gathers buyers, wholesalers and more negotiators of the sector, had its reception dinner in the Colonial City of the Dominican capital, headed by Tourism deputy minister Fausto Fernández.
He said the tourism activity has become a fundamental part of the country’s economy, and that the events currently taking place in the country “are truly transcendent.”
“Very especially those who are enrolled in events and conventions of the MICE segment, is one of those we want to promote, our country is going to become a reference, from now on there is a before and after. We are totally sure that our destination is going to be another after this activity,” Fernandez said.
He added that he’s proud about the country’s “many interesting offers, which is a mature destination, a beautiful city where all the plans that may be drawn during the development of said conclave can materialize.”
