Santo Domingo.- Rafael Santos BadÃa, director of the National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (Infotep), announced an initiative aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector in Sabana de la Mar. The Villa Suiza hotel will be converted into a tourism and gastronomy school, designed to train specialized technicians in these fields, thereby fostering economic development in the region.
BadÃa emphasized that the hotel’s reconstruction, ordered by President Luis Abinader, will comply with the Purchasing and Contracting Law. The renovation will update the long-abandoned building to fulfill the requirements of this new academic venture. According to CDN, the new school is slated to open on November 30, with President Abinader expected to attend the inauguration. BadÃa noted that the president has been a crucial ally in this project, demonstrating a commitment to promoting technical education and advancing the country’s economic growth.
