La Romana, DR.- La Romana consolidates its position as one of the favorite destinations for international visitors during Holy Week 2025, registering a hotel occupancy rate of more than 90%. Ana GarcÃa-Sotoca, executive director of the Tourism Cluster and the La Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association (AHRB), confirmed this.
He said that among the main source markets of tourists who have chosen La Romana to enjoy their vacations are the United States, Italy, Germany, France and Argentina.
In this context of a high tourist influx, GarcÃa-Sotoca highlighted the sector’s unwavering commitment to visitor safety: “We are working hard to ensure the safety of those who visit us.”
He also highlighted the close collaboration between the tourism sector and the security forces deployed in the area during this festive period.
“In the operation deployed by all the security forces in the area, we support them logistically in everything necessary, to ensure a quiet and pleasant holiday experience for all tourists,” added GarcÃa-Sotoca.
The high occupancy recorded in La Romana during Holy Week is excellent news for the local economy and reaffirms the region’s position as a premier tourist destination in the Caribbean. According to a statement, the positive trend is expected to continue for the rest of the season, further boosting the development and growth of the sector in the province of La Altagracia.
