Santo Domingo.- businessman Stanley Motta, owner of airline Copa Airlines, on Thurs. told Dominican ambassador in Panama, Rafael Tejeda, that starting next year, the new airline Wingo, a unit of his group, will operate several flights to the country.
Motta said the new airline that began operations in 2016, “is awaiting the acquisition of a fleet of new aircraft, and once that occurs, Wingo will ply the skies of the Dominican Republic.”
In the meeting with the Dominican diplomat, Motta also confirmed his participation in the National Business Council’s (CONEP) upcoming luncheon in Santo Domingo.
Jobs, tourists
Tejeda praised the plan to increase flights to the country, “which results in the creation of new jobs, and the arrival of more tourists who will demand goods and services produced by Dominicans, which will have a satisfactory impact on the national economy.”
