Bávaro.- The THEMAG AWARDS 2024 gala, held at the Iberostar Grand Bávaro Resort hotel in Punta Cana, showcased glamour and elegance while honoring excellence in tourism and hospitality in the eastern region of the Dominican Republic.

Hosted by Betina Rey and Marcelo Ballester, general directors of THEMAG Magazine, along with esteemed figures like David Llibre of ASONAHORES and Ernesto Veloz of ASOLESTE, the event recognized outstanding achievements across 15 categories related to the tourism sector. The winners, selected through transparent voting by industry executives and businessmen, represented the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in Dominican tourism.

In her opening remarks, Betina Rey emphasized the collective commitment to excellence and innovation, celebrating the region’s prominence in the tourism landscape. The gala, she noted, underscored the collaborative efforts driving the Eastern Region’s ascent as a premier tourist destination.

The evening was artfully guided by Lorenna Pierre, complemented by the vibrant ILUZIO Show, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for all attendees.

Among the standout winners were Hyatt Ziva and Zilara at Cap Cana for their innovative hotel proposal, Hilton La Romana All Inclusive Resort for originality in food and beverage offerings, and Cap Cana Foundation for its commitment to sustainability. Other notable winners included the Reserve Bank for its contributions to tourism development and the Corales Golf Course for its captivating design.

Special recognition was bestowed upon Mr. Frank Rafael Rainieri Marranzini for his lifetime achievements, accepted on his behalf by Mr. Giovanni Rainieri.
