Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.-  The Punta Cana-Macao Energy Consortium, S.A. (CEPM) on Mon. signed a contract to supply, for the first time, energy from a solar (photovoltaic) source to a hotel complex, which is operated by Karisma Hotels & Resorts with 460 rooms in the Uvero Alto area.

The initiative, which contributes to develop sustainable tourism, will allow the Nickelodeon Punta Cana and Sensatori Resort Punta Cana hotels operate with clean energy, to be supplied by CEPM.

CEPM executive director, Roberto Herrera, and Karisma Hotels director Jorge Féliz signed the agreement.

“We proceed to the signing of this agreement as a relevant opportunity to continue to contribute to the development of tourism from a vision sustainable and friendly with the environment,” Herrera said.
