Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM) has reinforced its regional maritime partnerships by renewing its cooperation agreement with the Curaçao Port Authority (CPA) and establishing a new alliance with the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) during the Seatrade Cruise Global fair in Miami.

APORDOM Executive Director Jean Luis Rodríguez signed both agreements to enhance collaboration in port operations, information exchange, and joint promotion of cargo and cruise activities. The renewed three-year agreement with Curaçao aims to foster port development through technical and commercial cooperation, with a focus on sharing data, adopting best practices in safety and efficiency, and exploring joint business opportunities. Tourist cruise itinerary packages are also being considered to boost regional tourism.

Meanwhile, the five-year pact with the AMP will expand cooperation in the port and logistics sectors under principles of equality and reciprocity. It also aims to promote cruise and maritime trade and foster stronger bilateral relations. Both agreements include the creation of technical working groups, joint participation in global forums, and collaborative training programs to develop human capital in the port sector.
