Santo Domingo.- Arajet has received authorization from the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) to operate flights between Las Américas International Airport (AILA) in Santo Domingo and José Martí International Airport in Havana, Cuba.

This new route will enhance connectivity between the Dominican Republic and Cuba, offering travelers a budget-friendly option. Arajet plans to operate two weekly flights using Boeing 737-8MAX aircraft, which can accommodate 186 passengers. The airline aims to strengthen its presence in the regional market by providing affordable flights and expanding its Caribbean destinations.

With Arajet joining the route, Santo Domingo-Havana will now be served by three airlines: Arajet, Skyhigh Dominicana (operating Embraer 190 aircraft), and Air Century (operating 50-passenger aircraft). This increased competition is expected to benefit passengers with more flight options and competitive pricing.
