Santo Domingo.- Sky Caterers, the largest food preparation and distribution company for commercial airlines in Central America and the Caribbean, has launched operations in the Dominican Republic with state-of-the-art facilities at Las Américas International Airport. Based in Puerto Rico and affiliated with Management Group Investors (MGI), Sky Caterers is the only local in-flight catering company certified by U.S. regulatory agencies like the FDA.

Corporate Director Augusto del Valle Martínez emphasized the company’s commitment to the Dominican market, citing its potential for growth. He also highlighted the company’s goal of creating employment opportunities for Dominicans, with 200 professionals already employed at the new facility.

Sky Caterers serves not only airlines but also hospitals, hotels, and restaurants. With a $20 million investment, the Dominican Republic facility spans 7,031 square meters and can produce 40,000 meals daily. Future plans include expanding operations to Puerto Plata Airport to meet increasing demand and continue growing in the region.
