Santo Domingo.- East Zone Hotels and Tourism Projects Association (ASOLESTE) president Ernesto Veloz on Wed. filed for an injunction in the Superior Administrative Court against the Tourism Ministry’s approval of 22-floor high rises along the Punta Cana coastline, labeling the authorization, “clandestine.”
Veloz said they also asked the court to void the resolution for allegedly failing to publish it nationally as required by Law 107-13.
He said they also demanded that Tourism refrain from granting permits and authorizations which modify the zoning approved for the tourist region which Tourism itself originally established in 2012.
Veloz was accompanied by the executives of the resorts Princess, Iberostar, Palladium, Vista Sol, IFA, Royalton, Melia, Sanctuary Cap Cana, and AMResorts, and National Hotels and Tourism Association (ASONAHORES president) Joel Santos.
